Chelsea Reisner currently attends school at Wartburg College, where she studies composition with Dr. Geoff Wilson. She began composing in high school. In 2008 her first composition, Lumiére, was performed by the Green Bay Symphony Chorus. In 2009, her piece The Call of the Land placed in the MacDowell Club of Milwaukee's Young Composers Competition. In April 2012, Upward Journey was premiered by the Wartburg Chamber Orchestra, featuring Dr. Eric Wachmann on shakuhachi. This summer, she has been selected to premiere two new pieces at the Fresh Inc. Festival and a third at the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival, both nationally competitive summer workshops. After Wartburg, Chelsea plans to pursue an advanced degree in composition. In addition to art music, she is also interested in composing music for film.
